The City of Beaverton’s Information Technology and Service Department has an opening for a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist. This position provides design, development, and maintenance of geospatial datasets and cartographic products for both internal and external customers. The GIS Specialist interprets original documents such as civil engineering plans and enters data into the enterprise GIS system using ESRI software. The GIS Specialist is responsible for collecting and validating field data using GPS and mobile devices. In addition, the GIS Specialist creates maps, performs moderate to complex analysis, and assists other city departments in using GIS applications. DEA’s Oregon Region is looking for a Land Survey Intern to be located in our Portland, OR office. The position responsibilities will be diverse and will include working as a junior member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. You will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with DEA staff and clients on these projects.
