The core functions of the Records/GIS Section are to 1) ensure Bureau records are captured and archived according to the relevant retention schedules, 2) develop and maintain the Bureau's Content Management System, and 3) to develop and maintain the Bureau's infrastructure-oriented geographic information system (GIS). As project manager, the position creates strategic plans and directs consultants working on the development and implementation of the Bureau's Content Management System, and integration with the City's archival systems, including automation of the record induction and metadata tagging processes. The position also provides technical oversight and support on the Bureau's technology related initiatives and projects, including writing strategic technology plans, developing work plans, managing technology projects, and troubleshooting and solving technology related problems. The Records Senior Program Manager also identifies opportunities and works to integrate data systems to make common and related data available across various data systems. The position coordinates Bureau activities and resources to address various Bureau of Technology Services (BTS) programs and initiatives that impact Bureau operations or data systems, including disaster recovery plans and systems. The position also participates in various groups and committees, including City wide committees, such as the Records Management Steering Committee and Legal Records Management Program Steering Committee, BTS-PWB Coordination team and BTS Customer Stakeholder's Group. The Records/GIS Senior Program Manager is also the project director of the Bureau's Geographic Information System and oversees the on-going development and expansion of the Bureau's GIS. The ideal candidate will have experience in public records management, information technology related program and project management, supervision, and a strong technical background in computers, relational databases, and information systems, including Content Management systems.
