Performs complex duties in support of County and departmental Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis, functions, processing, application design, development, and testing of GIS software, hardware, and geospatial data management systems. SUMMARY STATEMENT This position is responsible for administration and oversight of the geographic information solutions (GIS) software and systems. The work consists of staying current in advanced principles using ESRI products, GIS programming languages and methodologies to perform GIS database management. Must have strong technical and analytical skills to produce, merge and validate information from multiple database sources both internal and external. Responsible for GIS work including; designing, testing and maintaining ArcGIS web maps, integrating third party software with GIS. Provides training and consultation with employees and contractors to foster effective system use and ensure work practices maintain integrity and security of Central Lincoln’s GIS data. Evaluates and participates in making recommendations to advise management of improvements, maintenance and best practice use of GIS. May be team lead for special projects. Essential Functions:

Project Title: GIS/Data Specialist Project Type: Remote Duration: 32 weeks (8 months); Target start date is February 5, 2024 Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week Housing: Must be secured by the intern. A housing stipend of $1,000 per month will be provided. Project Background: This virtual/remote position will be part of the CDNST trails team. This position is a great opportunity to learn about natural resource management and assist on high priority projects that serve agency staff and partners. The GIS/Data specialist will be working closely with the Trail Administrator on trail data cleanup efforts in both the spatial (GIS) and tabular (NRM Infra database) data sets. The individual will review, edit and update the datasets prior to a data migration for these applications.
