Summary The GIS Cadastral Cartography Tech assists the Cadastral Cartographer in creating and maintaining a representation of Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) data in GIS format. This position supports the Assessor’s Office internal business needs for tax assessor maps, deed processing, and the provision of needed maps and analysis as well as supports over-the-counter requests from public and private entities for digital and hard copy GIS products. Distinguishing Characteristics Working under the direct supervision of the County Assessor and guidance of the GIS Coordinator, the GIS Cadastral Cartography Tech will review surveys against County standards, and industry best practices. This position will participate in the State of Oregon’s ORmap Project to keep abreast of changes in state standards and the implementation of new cadastral mapping technologies. Also, the position will demonstrate a working knowledge of CAMA systems, as well as familiarity with GIS datasets germane to tax assessment. Furthermore, the GIS Cadastral Cartography Tech will assist in ownership discrepancies by performing deed and title searches to verify ownership. This position will also process land transactions through the CAMA system.
