The candidates will be responsible for gathering field based data for various City assets. Position Summary Two interns, age 18 or older, will work for the Clark Conservation District to map oak habitat in Clark, Skamania and Cowlitz counties. The interns will train with Urban Greenspace Institute (UGI) and Metro staff to map oaks from aerial photos using Geographic Information System (GIS). Limited field checks (≈ 1-day every 2-weeks) occur during training and mapping phases, but most work occurs in office. The interns will check-in weekly with UGI and/or Metro staff to oversee their work. The internship will run from July to September or October 2019, with a possible extension of up to 6-weeks. The number of work hours per week will be mutually determined by the interns and Clark CD to accommodate project needs and individuals’ schedules. There may be opportunity for college credit with a faculty-approved course of study.
