The Position GIS Technician IIIs perform advanced specialized work in the use of Geographic Information Systems. The GIS Technician III position, located in the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Mapping, Data, and Application Services (MDAS) division, provides lead direction to a team of GIS and CAD Technicians in the performance of duties related to the disposition of BES assets in the Sewer and Stormwater Collection System data layers and asset management database. Additional duties include records research, establishment of best practices, assignment of tasks to team members, quality assurance/quality control of work performed, contributions to process improvement, and ensuring compliance with bureau standard practices and business rules.
