There is also possibility of additional work on the remote sensing of Harmful Algal Blooms. We are looking for an experienced Image/GIS analyst, or savvy student, to help us on a project that is utilizing high resolution satellite imagery to map tidal wetlands (salt, brackish and freshwater marshes) as well as tidal mudflats in South San Francisco bay. The job is a mix of QA/QC of habitat model results, Image processing and analysis, spatial data management, and GIS data editing. The core work involves creating training sites for vegetation classification and reviewing and QA/QC’ing classification results. Attention to detail is an essential skill for completing this task. Also, knowledge of vegetation, although not essential, would be useful.
